Faith-Based Life Coaching for Emotional & Spiritual Growth
Coaching Vs Counseling
Coaching and counseling both provide valuable support, but they serve different purposes in a person’s growth journey. Coaching is Christ-centered and solution-focused, helping individuals move forward toward personal growth, goals, and lasting transformation. A coach walks alongside the client, helping them gain clarity, overcome obstacles, and move from where they are to where they desire to be through practical steps and reachable expectations.
Counseling, on the other hand, takes more time to pause and address areas of pain, brokenness, emotional wounds, and deeper struggles in order to bring healing and wholeness. While coaching focuses more on the present and future, counseling often spends more time exploring the past and understanding how it impacts current behaviors, emotions, and relationships.
Both approaches aim to help individuals grow and live healthier lives, but coaching is generally growth- and goal-oriented, while counseling is more healing- and restoration-oriented.
What makes Coaching Through the Winters different is our understanding that every person experiences “winter seasons” in life—times of loneliness, uncertainty, hardship, and moments where growth can feel impossible. We believe those seasons are real, but we also believe winters do not last forever.
Our approach is deeply personal, faith-centered, and focused on lasting transformation through personal development. We walk alongside individuals through difficult seasons, offering encouragement, clarity, and support while helping them remain connected to God. Even in seasons that feel cold, barren, or lifeless, we believe growth, healing, and purpose are still possible.
Coaching Through the Winters specializes in personal development in relationships of all kinds, helping individuals become unstuck through different life transitions such as parenting, marriage, ministry life, and major changes in life. We are passionate about helping people grow emotionally, spiritually, and personally while navigating the challenges that come with each season.
We also take special care in supporting women in ministry and pastors’ wives, understanding the unique weight, responsibilities, and pressures that often come with their role. Our desire is to provide a safe and encouraging place where they can grow, be strengthened, and feel personally supported while continuing to walk faithfully in their calling.
Why We Do What We Do
We do what we do because we believe God cares deeply about the growth and development of every individual. We are not like other coaching practices. We help to personally develop our clients and give them pastoral counseling support if needed. Our passion is to help people overcome what has kept them stuck, develop emotionally, mentally, and spiritually, and remain anchored in their relationship with Him. We are committed to helping clients step into greater purpose, maturity, and wholeness.
